Active Ingredient: Tadalafil

Indication: Cialis Tablets 20mg is a medication indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men. It is also prescribed for the management of symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with or without ED.

Mechanism of Action: Cialis Tablets 20mg contains tadalafil, a selective inhibitor of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP)-specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). During sexual stimulation, nitric oxide is released in the corpus cavernosum of the penis, leading to the activation of guanylate cyclase and the subsequent increase in cGMP levels. Tadalafil inhibits PDE5, which is responsible for the degradation of cGMP, thereby prolonging the vasodilatory effects of cGMP in the corpus cavernosum. This results in increased blood flow to the penis, facilitating erectile function.

Dosage and Administration: Cialis Tablets 20mg should be taken orally, with or without food, as directed by a healthcare provider. The recommended starting dose for most men is 10mg, taken at least 30 minutes before anticipated sexual activity. Depending on individual response and tolerability, the dose may be adjusted to 20mg or decreased to 5mg once daily. Cialis Tablets should not be taken more than once per day.

Onset and Duration of Action: Cialis Tablets 20mg has a relatively rapid onset of action, with effects typically observed within 30 minutes to 1 hour after administration. The medication remains effective for up to 36 hours, allowing for greater flexibility in timing sexual activity.

Contraindications: Cialis Tablets 20mg is contraindicated in individuals with a known hypersensitivity to tadalafil or any component of the medication. It should not be used concurrently with nitrates or alpha-blockers, as this may potentiate hypotensive effects. Patients with severe hepatic impairment or end-stage renal disease requiring dialysis should also avoid its use.

Adverse Reactions: Common adverse reactions associated with Cialis Tablets 20mg include headache, dyspepsia, back pain, myalgia, nasal congestion, flushing, and dizziness. Rare but serious adverse reactions may include priapism (prolonged erection), sudden hearing loss, and vision changes.

Precautions: Patients should be advised to seek immediate medical attention if an erection persists for more than 4 hours, as priapism can result in permanent damage to the penis. Caution is advised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, as sexual activity may pose a risk. Use of alcohol and grapefruit juice should be limited while taking Cialis Tablets, as they may increase the risk of adverse effects.

Interactions: Cialis Tablets 20mg may interact with certain medications, including nitrates, alpha-blockers, antihypertensives, antifungals, antibiotics, and HIV protease inhibitors. Patients should inform their healthcare provider of all medications, supplements, and herbal products they are taking before starting Cialis therapy.

Storage: Cialis Tablets 20mg should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep the medication out of reach of children.
